Afro-soul singer and performer, S’nazo, is determined to spread Godly messages
through music. This as the 1x SAMA-nominated songbird gears up to release her
gospel-jazz single, titled “Konke”. S’nazo describes the song as “one of those songs
that speak to you first as the singer”, adding that she can only pray it will touch the
hearts and souls of people in the same way.
“Sometimes we’re held back by our own perspective of what’s going on in our lives.
If we believe that no matter how gloomy things may seem, God can still do the
impossible, it changes everything. And this is really what this song is all about,” she
shares.
The song, which is dropping on the 27 th of September 2024, is a teaser to S’nazo’s
second album, to be called “Churchgirl Who Sings Afro”. In both the song, and later
on the full project, the two musical worlds of gospel and Afro-soul that have shaped
S’nazo’s career come together to create a soulful fusion of gospel, Afro-soul and
Afro-jazz.
S’nazo further reveals that the new song is both a cry for help and an utterance of
bold faith that “konke kuyenzeka, konke kulungile”. She states that “there are
endless possibilities in God, including the possibility of stillness”. Again, she
emphasises that the song reminds people of the need for a deeper connection with
God, the Creator of everything.
S’nazo is no stranger to music lovers in and around South Africa. She has become a
favourite for millions of South African TV viewers and radio listeners nationwide.
Again, she has been featured in Apple Music’s Mzansi Risers playlist and appeared
in Shazam SA Top 200 Charts. Among her other accomplishments is her music
having been used as a soundtrack on some episodes of the popular SABC 1 drama
series, Skeem Saam.
